BRIEF HISTORY:

  • Located in the heart of London

  • The UCL's motto is Cuncti adsint meritaeque expectent praemia palmae which translates to English as "Let all come who by merit deserve the most reward"

  • There are currently enrolling approximately 43 800 students

  • The student-faculty ratio is 1:10 making it the best in the UK

  • Established in 1826 with poet Thomas Campbell being one of The Four Founders

  • One of the first universities which accepted women on equal terms with men in 1876
