SCIO Tests
The idea of these tests comes from the US system of standardized exams, where the National Comparative Exams replace or complement your admission in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Up to this day they are used by one-third of Czech universities. Scio also provides more than NCE tests for international students:
English Test
Test your B2-level English proficiency via Scio. It contains 60 problems with 60 minutes to solve them, with grammar, reading and listening sections. All Scio tests are comparative, meaning you do not have to answer all the questions to get a good result and this one is no exception. Make sure that your university accepts these results.

GAP - General Academic Prerequisites
Some faculties demand this exam as it does not examine the student's level of knowledge but rather shows his ability and skill level to study at university. It contains 54 questions from both Verbal and Analytical reasoning. In the Verbal part, the main focus is on text comprehension, relations within it and vocabulary. Whereas in the Analytical part, the focus lies on the logical consideration of information, working with quantities (variables, operations, ...) and various conditions.

The NCE Tests
Selected universities and faculties admit applicants without entrance exams when they provide results from the Scio test when achieving a certain amount of percentile in Mathematics, Chemistry or Biology.

The Math test gives you 90 minutes for 35 problems. Tables and calculators are prohibited, but all items can be solved without them.
In the area of Biology, you will meet with high-school-level knowledge with 40 minutes for 40 multiple-choice questions.
Chemistry tests are similar, 40 minutes for 30 questions. When taking the test online a calculator will be included in the application in which the test is taken.

There are several dates on which you can take the test repeatedly and only the best one counts and will be sent to the university – this applies to all Scio tests. Registration for the NCE tests is independent of the main application for the university and the test can be also done online.
