    Officially established in 1976 to expand the medical training facilities due to a lack of medical professionals


    Founded by Sjeng Tans, a political leader in the province of Limburg, after the decision of the Dutch government

UM offers an array of 22 programmes in English, only 6 in Dutch


The programmes include Brain Science, Circular Engineering, Medicine, Psychology, Maastricht Science Programme

46 programmes available in English, 6 in Dutch


Incl. 15 programmes in Medicine&Health, 13 in Natural Sciences&Mathematics

    The UM itself does not offer housing on campus


    Maastricht Housing is the official housing agency that provides mediation between UM students and landlords, thereby supporting students and official employees in finding qualitative and affordable housing (student rooms, alternative housing)


    Maastricht University’s Student Services Centre (SSC) helps students with a wide range of issues related to studying and student life (application, registration, legal advice, psychologist)


    Wide variety of sports, social activities 


    Good healthy and inexpensive food in the UNI restaurants on campus


    Bike rentals, shops, museums, theatres...
