"If someone’s attending GeorgiaTech I’d wish them good luck and advise them to not only focus on academics but also look at outside the classroom experience ASAP."
How and why did you choose your university?
I chose GeorgiaTech through research (major rankings, culture etc), personal fit and discussion with seniors.
What did you major in, and what did you think of the program?
I major in Chemical Engineering and love it even though it’s getting quite tough.
How did you find your career path?
I always loved Physics, Chemistry and Math throughout school and found a major that meshed all of them together. Always study what you love doing otherwise I don’t think there’s really a point.
What was your favourite class?
My favourite class till now was Linear Algebra because it was a completely new concept and a novel way of looking at mathematics and systems.
Was it easy to build relationships with your professors, or they weren’t approachable?
Obviously, it depends but usually, Professors have been really, really approachable. Make sure you go ahead and talk to them not only about class but also whether they have any opportunities outside you can be involved in.
How did you get involved on campus?
To get involved in campus I just found activities that sounded interesting and attended their info session or group meeting. Initially make sure to join as many as you can and then slowly drop once you don’t find it as interesting.
What did you gain outside of the college classroom?
I gained the ability to really connect with and interact with people outside class. I think that’s the most important part of college even more than the studies. I also gained a lot of experience working in research labs and engineering teams.

What was the greatest challenge you faced in college?
The greatest challenge I faced was making and sticking to a routine. There will be really late nights of work and fun with friends so balancing life as an adult was a jump.
What advice do you have for someone attending this university?
Do NOT take 8 am lectures.
If someone’s attending GeorgiaTech I’d wish them good luck and advise them to not only focus on academics but also look at outside the classroom experience ASAP.

What do you wish you knew before starting college?
I wish I knew how independent you’re suddenly forced to become. I’d been warned but it really is a big jump. It’s natural to be overwhelmed so don’t let it affect you.
What advice would you give to current college students?
The advice I’d give is to get out of your comfort zone. Explore Explore Explore.
