BRIEF HISTORY:

The university known as MUNI can be found in Brno

It was established in 1919 and named after the first president of Czechoslovakia, T.G. Masaryk

Now it consists of ten faculties, with 35 115 students

It was T.G. Masaryk who pointed out the need for a second Czech university to achieve healthy competition

Following the German occupation of Czechoslovakia, the Faculty of Science lost one quarter of its teaching staff

Now it runs its Antarctic research station, Mendel Museum and CEITEC MU, a centre of research excellence
