BRIEF HISTORY:
Located in Prague, Plzeň and Hradec-Králové
As of today, 51 700 students are enrolled
The student-faculty ratio is 13:1
It's one of the oldest universities in the world since it was the second university established in the Holy Roman Empire after Bologna
The school was founded in 1348 during the rule of the King of Bohemia and Holy Roman Emperor Charles IV
The former four faculties were reduced to just one (Liberal Arts) during the Hussite reformist movement
In 1882 Charles University was divided into two institutions: Czech and German
Academic staff included respected figures, such as Albert Einstein (German University) and T.G. Masaryk (Czech University)
UNDERGRADUATE COURSES:
Charles University provides around 600 accredited study programmes, while 200 are taught in a foreign language
Bachelor's and Follow-up Master's programmes cover 30 academic fields

CAMPUS INFO:
Charles University is comprised of 17 faculties, which are located in various building complexes-the majority of these faculties are situated in Prague, with two located in Hradec-Kralove and one in Plzen
The university's centre is called Karolinum, originally built in the 14th century, and serves as a venue for official academic ceremonies, such as graduation
Part of the university are facilities like Karolinum Press, an academic publishing house, the Botanical Garden, the Computer Science Centre, and more than a dozen libraries
Campus Hybernska is another important location, where students can find various clubs, festivals, workshops, film screenings, debates, charity events, and more.
